The Savvy Sweatshirt Dress

I remember years ago I owned a sweatshirt outfit (I say outfit because a skirt was involved), that I wore literally every weekend.  So much so, that my then three old said to me, “Mommy, again?” LOL  Sweatshirt fabric is so cozy, comfortable and stylish, can you blame me?  One thing is for sure, sweatshirts are not just for the weekend or the gym anymore.  For the longest time, I have been in love with both sweater and sweatshirt dresses.  It was and still is my go-to piece of clothing to run out to the store or just errands in general.  However, because of the versatility of these types of dresses, over the years I began to wear them to work.  A solid pair of heels or boots can quickly transform any outfit!  Not to mention, that sweatshirt dresses are the perfect transition piece for fall/winter and can be easily worn with leggings.

After thinking about my next focus for this blog, I wanted to feature an item that can be styled in several different ways.  This particular sweatshirt dress is from Abercrombie & Fitch and it is super cute!!  It has the most adorable floral embroidery on the shoulders and the fit, although a little looser, is flattering.  Keep scrolling to view the different ways to wear this and any other sweater dress.

Look #1 – Work or Play!

For this particular look, I decided to layer with a plain white button down, black booties and one of my most favorite clutch bags.  This can easily transition from day-to-night and can be worn to work or a night out.

Look #2 – Weekend vibes

I decided to throw on my J.Crew field jacket, Vince Camuto booties and a crossbody bag for this look.  Also, kept the outfit simple with a few gold accents – J.Crew tassel and hinge bracelet.  I really love this jacket and it gives the sweatshirt dress an updated, but yet very casual feel.

Look #3 – Perfect Fit

Another way to wear a sweatshirt dress is by simply putting a belt around the waist. For me, I tend to do this because I am on the shorter side and makes the most sense if something is too long.  I know there are petite sizes, but belting is a great option as well!  It is easy to achieve this look by simply adding OTK boots or sneakers, and off you go. By the way… have you gotten yourself a pair of over the knee boots?  If not, now is the time;)
