Sailing from Summer to Fall in NAVY

So it’s completely true that you learn something new everyday!  However, some things stick and others don’t.  Well, what we’re sharing with you today definitely stuck!  It wasn’t until this past March that we learned about the Pantone Color Institute’s analysis of New York Fashion Week.  Each season, they carefully analyze designers’ collections and identify the top ten colors for the upcoming season.  And of course, they identify these colors by their Pantone name.  How cool is that?  One of our favorite darker colors in the summer is navy and this fall, the Pantone Color Institute identified that “Navy Peony” is going to be a major color trend this season.  So…we decided to use some of our favorite navy pieces from the summer and style them in a way to “sail” into fall.  Oh, and we also incorporated some other popular Pantone colors for the fall, such as Tawny Port (burgundy) and Butterum (warm-beige-brown).

In the summer, it’s easy to pair navy and white (so nautical and chic!), but coral is another one of our favorite color choices.  We love this camisole from J.Crew.  The draping and ruffle detail gives it a nice feminine touch.  The length gives you the option to tuck or not to tuck!  These pants are the best!  They fit so perfectly and fall so nicely.  The little bit of elastic in the back adds to the comfort of these pants.  You just can’t go wrong with a pair of nude or in this case, Butterum-ish pumps with navy pants!  The colors just look so good together.  These ankle-strap pumps will be worn time and time again this fall!

This is one of our favorite camis of the summer and luckily, it has Tawny Port and Butterum stripes in it! This cami also has a nice ruffle detail to soften the look or the stripes and we love the wrap front and tie closures.  A nude pump or strappy nude sandal complement this outfit quite nicely.  These high-waisted, distressed jeans give this outfit a little edge and are under $40!  Throw on a comfy cardigan (like this one) or blazer like this one, and you are fall-ready!

We absolutely love Navy Peony, so we look forward to wearing a lot more of it this fall!  Thanks for stopping by! Xo
