Today marks one month until I return to the classroom and meet this years’ students for the first time.  Just as kids love shopping for a back-to-school wardrobe, so do teachers!  Being a high school teacher for 14 years, this is something that I look forward to every school year. Target has always been one of my favorite destinations for classroom supplies and decor, but it has also become one of my favorite places to shop for workwear.  Target brands such as Who What Wear, Prologue, and A New Day have beautiful collections that are classroom chic and super affordable!

September in New York is still pretty warm, so when shopping for back-to-school clothing, I look for pieces that are transitional.  This $13 sleeveless turtleneck is on of my favorite tops!  It comes in a few color options.  This leopard midi skirt is only $23!  As the weather cools down, you can throw on a black cardigan like this one or a blazer along with a cute pair of boots.

Shop the look:

These paperbag ankle pants are a modal blend.  They are extremely comfortable and only $28.  Although they are labeled as black, I find them to be more of a charcoal gray color.

Shop the look:

Sticking with the sleeveless turtleneck theme (sorry, it’s just classic!), this ribbed turtleneck dress is only $23 and comes in a variety of colors.  You can easily style it with a cardigan to transition to the fall.

Shop the look:

Here’s the same dress in black and once again, styled for the cooler temps as well.

So clearly, I love this sleeveless turtleneck.  Here it is again in white with the cutest pleated skirt that is only $28.

Shop the look:

If pleated skirts aren’t your thing, this pencil skirt is a great wardrobe staple!  This skirt is only $23.  I’ve also styled it with this versatile camisole and blazer for more of a business look and with this rust colored cardigan (always love this color for fall!).  This cardigan comes in a bunch of different colors and is also $23.   Here is another skirt, which is just a bit shorter in length if that is what you prefer.

Shop these looks:

So, I couldn’t resist… this blazer is so good that I just had to show you how to dress it down as well.  I love that it has a striped lining.  Rolling up the sleeves gives it a fun new look!

As much as I love a good fitted pant, I am really loving that wide-leg pants are back in style.  These wide-leg pant have a tie waist and are only $28.  They are long, so depending on your height, you would possibly need to wear them with heels.  I am 5’6 on a good day and definitely need to wear heels with these pants.

Shop the look:

This floral print dress is adorable and only $33.  It’s cute to wear alone when the weather is still warm or you can wear it with a cardigan when it’s cooler.

Shop the look:

Here is another cute dress option that can also be worn with or without a cardigan.  I love the brown snakeskin print.  It is only $25.  I actually have a button-down shirt with this same print (only $20).

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone has a wonderful school year!

  1. I am in love with a wide leg pant on you! That is the most flattering look I’ve seen! Your legs look a mile long especially with a high heel! You must wear a wide leg more than skinny! Also a flare leg jean might look stunning on you!

  2. I absolutely love your website.. Pleasant colors & theme.

Did you create this site yourself? Please reply back as I’m attempting to create my
very own website and want to find out where you got this from or just what the theme is called.
    Thank you!
