A Neckline for the Ages

During the mid to late 1800’s Queen Victoria of England reigned during a time when women had little power, let alone influence.  Women were viewed as inferior and unable to express themselves.  Well, times have definitely changed, but fashion influence from the time period has stuck around…well sort of minus the hoops skirts and bonnets 😉  One thing that has stuck around is Victorian style (named after Queen Victoria), which mainly refers to high necklines and lots of detail!

There are three words to describe this fall style – feminine, fancy, and chic!  I know we have been talking about fall trends, but you guys, this ultra feminine look can complement any weekday or weekend outfit.  This particular Gap shirt has a feminine look plus the detail on this is beautiful 🙂  It has a higher neckline and the Swiss dot embellishment is just so pretty.  Oh, and there is a slight opening in the back giving the shirt a more romantic feel.  It comes in three colors and is under $50!  (unfortunately, the pink color sold out very fast, but it’s still available in white, black and olive green.)

To complete this particular look I paired with my favorite go to J.Crew cargo pant in pine forest.  These pants are so comfortable from the strechy fit to the fabric.  The pants are available in 4 colors and also have cute zipper on the ankle:)  I added the Sam Edelman ankle strap pump to give the outfit a more work style but you can easily add a clutch and strappy heels and head out for the night;)
